Bowness Bred - Fundido Set For The 2 Yr Old Magic Millions Race in 2012

Fundido (Lonhro x Red Fever)- bred and sold by Bowness Stud in January at this year's Magic Million's sale on the Gold Coast made an impressive debut at Rosehill on Saturday 3rd December, 2011.

The dynamic two-year-old Fundido is heading to the Gold Coast and the Magic Millions Classic after his professional debut at Rosehill yesterday.

''He is still learning but I was pretty taken with him,'' Rawiller said. ''He was very professional. He is the sort of horse that will be there around Slipper time.

''As for the Magic Millions, he would be right in the mix up there and I'm not sure if we [the Waterhouse stable] have a colt.'' Being a heavyweight jockey, Rawiller could be open to riding a colt instead of a filly because of the difference in weights.

Fundido, which was backed from $2.70 to $2.50, lived up to an impressive barrier trial win sitting outside the favourite, Lyric, before racing clear of him in the straight to score by one and three quarter lengths, with Brave Soul a long neck back in third.

''It is good to have one like him for the Inghams,'' Waller said. ''He is just a natural two-year-old and I haven't had many of them. Usually I'm trying to make them run faster, this bloke does it by himself.''

Born and bred by Bowness Stud - She's A Rock Star (Rock Of Gibraltar x Sveldte) took out the Happy 35th Birthday Mario Tartak Handicap (1200m) at Warwick Farm on Saturday 23rd July 2011.

In a commanding win, the tough 5YO filly beat Duke of Cornwall by 1.5 lengths.

Jockey Blake Spriggs said it was a "good, honest win" particularly after she was caught wide early in the race. "She settled well in the middle stages of the race and finished strongly."

Another Group 2 Win For Bowness Bred Torio's Quest

Oratorio (IRE) - Quest For Pleasure

Torio's Quest recaptured his best form to score a commanding win in the $250,000 Group 2 BRC Queensland Guineas on Saturday 10th June, 2011.

With Hugh Bowman in the saddle, Torio's Quest settled worse than midfield and then unleashed a sizzling burst in the straight to storm away and win the 1600 metre event by four lengths from a big field of 17 rivals, who were totally outclassed on the day.

Torio's Quest took his earnings past $850,000 with his Guineas victory.

Bowness Stud owns Nakaaya's dam, Duchess Talaria.

A daughter of Marwina, Duchess Talaria is a half-sister to Fernhill Handicap (G1) winner Sir Amadi and to the dam of Flight Stakes (G1) winner Royal Purler.

Third dam is Princess Talaria a top-class daughter of Dignitas who numbered a victory in the VATC One Thousand Guineas.

A half-sister to the flying Sticks and Stones, Princess Talaria is the ancestress of Silver Flyer, Valuate and the grand old galloper Mustard.

Duchess Talaria has a weanling colt by Musket and was covered by Street Sense (USA) last year. Her progeny will appear in future Bowness Stud sale drafts.

Bred, raised and sold by Bowness Stud in 2009 provided an oustanding win for trainer Brad Partelle when he stormed home to win the $1 Million Queensland Magic Millions 3YO Guineas today, Saturday 15th January, 2011.

Bowness Stud sold the half sister (by Dubawi) to Torio's Quest this year at the Magic Million Gold Coast sale, purchased by leading WA trainer Neville Parnham.
